Cabbage thoran



1. Cabbage – ½ kg
2. Mustard seeds – few
3. Dried red chilly – 2
4. Onion – 1
5. Curry leaves – some
6. Turmeric powder – ¼ – ½ teaspoon
7. Chilly powder – ½ teaspoon
8. Green chilly – 1 or 2
9. Coconut grated – in proportion with cabbage, ½ of the cabbage
10. Oil – as required
11. Salt – as required
12. Ginger – a small piece
13. Garlic – 2

Cut the cabbage in small pieces. Also cut the onion, ginger, garlic and green chillies into small pieces. Pour small oil in a kadai in a medium flame. Put the mustard seeds and when it finish poping put the dried red chilly after cutting into 2 pieces. Put the curry leaves to it and then the cut onion, garlic, ginger and green chilies to it. Once the colour of the onion changes to golden brown add the coconut grated and fry it. Add the turmeric and chilly powder to it and also salt. Then add the cabbage and mix them well. If you want you can add some more oil to it. Cook it closed in a simmer fire. Do not over cook. Also make sure it does not stick on the kadai.

A healthy and tasty cabbage is ready. A less time consuming curry. Easy to make too.
